Gati Shakti

Gati Shakti is a national master plan for multi-modal connectivity. It was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 13th Oct 2021. It essentially serves as a digital platform to unite 16 ministries, including those in charge of roads and railways, in order to plan and carry out infrastructure connectivity projects in a coordinated manner. Under this projects more than 100 crores rupees will be invested. Various kinds of infrastructure projects will be completed by 2024-2025.

Traditionally, these was a lack of coordination between different departments, for examples once a road was constructed, other agencies dug up the constructed road for activities like laying underground cables, gas pipelines etc. This not only caused great inconvenience but also a wasteful expenditure. Recently the government has launched Call Before You Dig app which will be worked as the coordinator of the agencies.

The platform would help in increasing productivity of industry, support the local manufacturers, enhance the competitiveness of industries and also help in developing new possibilities for the creation of new economic zones.

We know the greater the scheme the larger the challenges the government has to face. India ranked 63rd in the global ease of doing business index(At present this index is not issued). Complicated taxation system and land acquisition procedures delay the infrastructure projects. Government should have to modify such kind of complicated systems. It is estimated that in near future India can be a manufacturing power house and it will be the business capital of the world.

                                                            Together we can do much.
